Canadian designer Kristina Banden debuted her first collection at Vancouver Fashion Week with vivid ivory and cobalt.
Seeing her designs come down the runway felt like we were at sea and enjoying the breeze watching chic designs come down the gangway. We hope to see more from Kristina because she wowed us and kept us at the edge of our seats. |

These students from LaSalle College truly impressed us and could not be left out of this lineup.
Innovative, edgy and pushing the boundaries, that's what we expect from designers and that's just what we got! I would say they have a very bright future ahead and many more runway shows to go. Excellent work!

This designer from Singapore is no stranger to the fashion industry having interned with Alexander McQueen in 2009 amongst other exploits.
The cuts and shapes of his clothing were new and interesting and appealed to me personally because the colours were simple, yet strong. I could easily see these designs gracing the streets of Paris or Milan.

Her name is Liming Li and she is fondly known as China's "Knitting Queen".
Her knits graced the runway of Vancouver Fashion Week in different shades and flowing skirts. Mrs Li is so talented and her craftmanship so perfected that oddly enough, knits are not the first thing that come to mind when you see her work. Instead, I think "oriental", "sexy" and "comfortable".

Lilla hails from Budapest, Hungary where she resides today. Her in depth knowledge of art shone through in her collection for Vancouver Fashion week along with her love of silk organza and tulle.
Her lively designs could just as easily be on the wall of an art gallery and seeing her collection makes us create stories for each piece of clothing. It was a very inspirational show that seemed to resonate with the designer.
