The rain tried its best but it could not dampen the excitement at Vancouver Fashion Week on Thursday, March 19th.
Today's featured designers are Atsushi Nakashima, Sunny's Bridal and Pouneh Askarian. These collections could not be any more different but they all stood out in their own way. The one thing they have in common is the beautiful structured pieces that say "bold" in such a classy and edgy way.
Other designers include London-based twin Nadia + Zehra who produced a vibrant, fun collection (right) that won't be forgotten any time soon. |

Pouneh Askarian produced a collection that was as perfect as you can get. Some of the fabrics used were chiffon and leather. Casual, formal, semi-formal...they were all there and they were all stunning! No one piece stood out above the others and I certainly would like them all in my closet! |

Sunny's Bridal attracts customers from all over North America and last night we saw exactly why. The beautiful South Asian clothing was draped to perfection and the embellishments were exquisite and high-end. I was very pleased to see men's wear included in the collection as men are often neglected when it comes to wedding attire.
It was also very cool to see celebrity chef and restaurant owner, Vikram Vij, strutting his stuff on the runway. |

To say this collection contained a lot of colour would be an understatement but the clothing was crafted and displayed so smartly that it was not overwhelming. Oversized coats and sweaters are definitely on trend this season and Atsushi Nakashima is leading the charge. |
