You know you've made it when protestors picket your event. If this is true, then Vancouver Fashion Week has certainly reached new heights. Anti-fur protesters stormed the catwalk during JUKOJulie's presentation at Vancouver Fashion Week on Tuesday, March 17th carrying signs saying "Fur is dead" and "This is not Fashion, this is Violence!" The protestors said they bought tickets to enter the event with the prime purpose of protesting JUKOJulie's fur-filled show but security quickly removed them from the stage once the protests interrupted the runway show.
The team at Vancouver Fashion Week is aware that JUKOJulie uses real fur in her designs but nothing is explicitly stated about this particular Fall/Winter collection on the VFW website. The show must go on! Controvery aside, the show continued and the remaining designers were able to reclaim their well-deserved spotlight. |

Magaly Guillen created a buzz during the Opening Gala with her very artistic collection and her colourful show on Tuesday brought a bit of "couture" to the event. |

Theresa Chen's collection was an all out home run! If I had to use one word to describe this collection it would be "Sophistication". Each piece was perfectly made and exuded class and elegance. The jackets were fun and the pops of red added just enough colour to make an already pulled together outfit even more spectacular. |

Grama's collection was casual and yet could be considered sexy in a very mature and classy way. Donning any of these garments would transform a girl into a confident young lady.
Congrats to the Grama team for a beautiful showing.
