Nine African Americans shot in Charleston church

By: ROZZ Editorial

The massacre of 9 African Americans in a historic Charleston church was a terrorist act. No misguided attempt by the media and people who hide their head in the sand will make us call it anything other than an act of pure hatred, simply because of the colour of their skin. This “man” felt that these people had no right to be there and were damaging his country.  Who gave him the right to make this decision? What have those 9 persons he murdered ever done to him personally? The answer…absolutely nothing! Unlike him, they were innocent.

My question in this whole disgusting event is does this person not have parents? I have not heard any comments from them as yet. Carson Cowles, who claims to be Roof’s uncle, told Reuters that Roof’s father had recently given him a .45-caliber handgun as a birthday present. “I actually talked to him on the phone briefly for just a few moments and he was saying, ‘Well, I’m outside practicing with my new gun,'” he said. Noone is born racist, anger and hatred and racism are learnt. Are these principles that Roof's family advocates?

And where in heaven's name did he get that jacket with those flags? Please tell me he made it himself and something like that is not being sold in a store somewhere!

Here is an article which describes the meaning of those flags...http://www.vox.com/2015/6/18/8806633/charleston-shooter-flags-dylann-roof

The United States of America invades the countries of people who have terrorized Americans. Were these 9 perons killed not Americans? When will the war begin to stamp out people who kill and maim innocent black Americans? Where is the justice for Black Americans, such as Trayvon Martin, who are racially profiled on a daily basis? Where is the justice for John Crawford who was gunned down for having a toy gun in a Beavercreek, Ohio Wal-Mart while many white Americans in Ohio are free to walk down the street openly carrying REAL guns?

America’s new motto appears to be “Shoot black people first, ask questions after”. This insane notion that people are less significant and less of a human being because of the colour of their skin is still ingrained in the minds and lives of many Americans.

How do we eliminate this plague?

We had a campaign to prevent Ebola coming to our shores but how do we go about eliminating a deep hatred against blacks, who do nothing wrong other than exist? The same way that racism is taught then we must teach persons to NOT be racist. Pretending racism does not exist does not and has not worked!  Children should be taught in schools to love and accept each other and to embrace each other’s differences regardless of race, ethnicity or religion. This, no doubt, will not go down well with some parents but this itself would allow us to identify those in our communities who still support racism, similarly to how we identify terrorists living amongst us.  That may seem a harsh comment, but harsh or not there is no real difference between the Tsarnaev brothers bombing the Boston Marathon killing and injuring so many Americans and Dylann Roof shooting up a church filled with Americans. If you beg to differ, then the only difference you see is the colour of the victims’ skin and herein lies the problem.
