We hear so many negative stories in the press about young people committing crimes that it's a breath of fresh air to hear about Jamal Rutledge, 17, a teenager who actually SAVED a police officer's life.
Video released by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department shows that Officer Franklin Foulks suddenly collapsed while processing Rutledge for a parole violation. Although Rutledge was being booked he did not turn a blind eye to Foulks' condition and immediately began to kick the security fence and yell to get the attention of the other police officers.
Officers Robert Norvis and Raymond Ketchmark quickly arrived to assist Foulks while Sgt. Todd Bunin contacted police dispatch. The officers administered CPR and used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device to attempt to restore normal heart rhythm and according to "Broward Health Medical Staff this may have saved Officer Foulks' life.
